Backyard Mosquito Season Control

Your Yard Doesn’t Have to Empty Out at Dusk

Twin Cities mosquito season runs roughly Memorial Day through September, and most of the biting comes from mosquitoes resting all day in your own shaded foliage. We treat where they rest, kill larvae where they breed, and can hit the tick zone along your wooded edge on the same visit.

  • Barrier treatment on shaded leaf undersides
  • Larval sites treated: gutters, saucers, low spots
  • Roughly 21-day cadence, May through September
  • One-time event sprays, 24–48 hours out

Where the bites actually come from

Resting sites first

Floodwater mosquitoes like Aedes vexans spend the day under hosta leaves and inside arborvitae, then hunt at dusk. Treating that foliage intercepts them; we keep product off blooming plants so pollinators keep working the flowers.

The standing-water hunt

A bottle cap of water can breed mosquitoes, so each visit includes a walk for plant saucers, tarps, clogged gutters, and forgotten kiddie pools. Water that can’t be dumped gets Bti, a bacterial larvicide that targets larvae and little else.

Timed to the hatch

A heavy June rain means a floodwater hatch about a week later. The three-week cadence exists so the barrier doesn’t lapse right when the hatch lands.

The Ankora guarantee

Questions people ask before booking

No, and nobody honest will tell you otherwise. A realistic result is 80–90% fewer bites in the treated yard. Mosquitoes fly, the wetland behind your fence keeps producing, and your neighbor’s birdbath isn’t ours to treat, what we control is your foliage and your water.

Once the barrier dries on the leaves, about 30 minutes, it holds up to normal rain fine. A soggy stretch of repeated downpours does shorten its life, and in a wet June we’ll tighten the schedule rather than pretend the calendar matters more than the weather.

We offer a tick edge treatment along the line where mowed lawn meets woods or tall grass, that transition strip is where deer ticks quest, not the open lawn. It’s a solid add-on, but ticks are their own subject with their own dedicated program, and no yard treatment protects you on a trail or replaces checking the dog.
